With every approach we may take, the intention is to create a safe and supportive environment in which you can be vulnerable and real.
When we grow to trust each other to both bring our full selves to the process, a successful outcome is inevitable.

Traditional Psychotherapy
You bring your issues to me and we sit and discuss it in my office. Of course, everything is confidential* and I’ll point out patterns as well as connect dots you may not notice, I’ll make interpretations of your behavior and give you practical solutions to try to help you overcome your barriers and answer some basic and important questions. I’ve been classically trained in this work and many of my clients find it immensely helpful.
*By law all therapists must report any client with stated intentions to harm others or their self

You’ll be in a comfortable environment, but, you need to know we will discuss topics that can be highly challenging so I can read your instincts and help guide you to new ways of seeing. Active Psychotherapy

We’ll still do plenty of talking and there will be practical takeaways, but the catalyst for that insight will come while engaging in activities more often found outside of a therapy office.

We may find ourselves walking and talking, shooting baskets, hitting tennis balls, kicking a soccer ball, throwing a frisbee, or doing something else that fosters insight. I’ll take what I see going on physically and use it to inform us about what may very be going on psychologically. It is a powerful way for us to tap into your instincts. You can think of Active Psychotherapy as an express lane to understanding what drives your everyday decisions and different states of mind.
